1. Introduction
IO Circle Inc. (“inner,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the inner app and website (myinner.app). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you use our services. By using inner, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
- Account information: name, email address, and password when you create an account.
- Assessment responses: your answers to personality, attachment, and conflict-style assessment questions.
- Profile information: any additional information you choose to add to your profile.
- Communications: messages you send through Spaces or to Sage, our AI mediator.
- Waitlist information: email address if you join our waitlist prior to launch.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Device information: device type, operating system, browser type, and unique device identifiers.
- Usage data: how you interact with the app, features used, and time spent.
- Log data: IP address, access times, pages viewed, and app crashes.
2.3 Information from Third Parties
If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name and email address from those services, subject to your privacy settings with them.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Create and manage your account.
- Generate and display your personality profile and compatibility results.
- Power Sage, our AI mediator, with relevant context from your profile.
- Connect you with people you invite to the platform.
- Send transactional emails, including waitlist confirmations and product updates.
- Improve and develop our services.
- Comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your assessment responses for advertising purposes.
4. Assessment Data
Your assessment responses including Big Five personality dimensions, attachment style, and conflict mode are sensitive personal information. We treat this data with heightened care. It is used solely to generate your inner profile and compatibility insights within the app. We do not share this data with third parties except as required by law or as strictly necessary to operate the service.
One part of operating the service does involve it. When you use Sage, we send your profile — your profile type, your Big Five, conflict and attachment scores, and the first names and profile types of connections relevant to what you are asking about — to Anthropic’s Claude API as context, together with the messages in that conversation. Anthropic processes it on our behalf to produce Sage’s reply. Under Anthropic’s commercial API terms, that content is not used to train their models. It is not sent anywhere else, and nothing is sent to Anthropic unless you open a conversation with Sage.
5. How We Share Your Information
We may share your information with:
- Service providers: third-party vendors who help us operate the platform, bound by confidentiality agreements. They are:
- Google (Firebase) — sign-in and database hosting.
- Anthropic (Claude API) — powers Sage. See Section 4 for exactly what reaches them.
- Netlify — website and application hosting.
- Resend — waitlist and transactional email.
- Other users: your profile name and compatibility insights are shared with people you connect with inside the app. Your assessment responses are never shared directly.
- Legal requirements: if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of inner or others.
- Business transfers: in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred to the successor entity.
6. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at hello@myinner.app. We may retain certain information as required by law or for legitimate business purposes.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@myinner.app. California residents may have additional rights under the CCPA. EU and UK residents may have additional rights under GDPR.
8. Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and at rest. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children’s Privacy
inner is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or through the app. Your continued use of inner after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
